It would greatly benefit us if we were able to charge time directly to a project rather than activities under a project, similarly to how you can charge time directly to a parent activity rather than a child. The use case here is that we want to track time spent on each project by individual and sometimes there are not specific tasks that exist to charge time to (which we want to know exactly how long those tasks take). It would be helpful if users could charge directly to a project, to a parent task, or a child task so that we have confidence in the numbers. Regardless of internal policy, there is no way for us to enforce governance of any workarounds such as adding a "dummy" task with all project users assigned just so they can charge time to a project. We also do NOT want to create dozens or even hundreds of minor tasks just so we can report on time as this is counter productive. Hope this request makes sense!
