Activity Center supports bulk edits or batch operation, i.e. a similar type of action on two or more projects/activities at once. 

A single project/activity can be edited as well using this method.

Project batch operations

Batch operations for projects include:

• Duplicate, 
• Archive,
• Delete, 
• Change (Statuses and Categories).

To access batch operations:

1. In Activity Center, click Actions.
2. Using their checkboxes, select one or more projects to be edited.
3. Select an action on the Actions panel.

Although there is no separate assign batch operation for projects, batch assignment to projects takes places when you bulk assign activities from different projects. How to bulk assign activities, see below.

Activity Batch Operations

To access batch operations for activities:

1. In Activity Center, click Actions.
2. Using their checkboxes, select one or more activities to be edited.
3. Select an action on the Actions panel:
   • Assign,
   • Unassign (available if the activities do currently have assignees),
   • Reassign,
   • Duplicate to,
   • Change dates,
   • Delete, and
   • Change (task, issue, or request status, priority, category),

4. Select required options for the operation you want to apply.
5. Click 'Apply'.
6. Repeat for other actions as may be required.

To remove a user from assignees of two activities at once:

• Select the two activities using their checkboxes,
• On the Actions panel, click Unassign,
• Use the text search bar to quickly locate the user.
• Click the user on the list of the assignees to select it (selected user is marked with a tick on the right). A plaque with the user name will appear in the text search bar. If you made a mistake, click X on the plaque to cancel selection.
• Click 'Apply'.

Assigning users to activities

To assign select users to a group of activities:

1. Click Actions.
2. Select the activities to be assigned by clicking their checkboxes.
3. Select Assign.
4. Select the would-be assignees. Plaques with selected assignees will appear in the text search bar. If you made a mistake, click X on the respective plaque to cancel selection.
5. Clear the "Don't send notifications" checkbox if you want to notify the assignees about their assignment.
6. Clear the "Recalculate hours shared among assignees" checkbox if you want to allocate hours manually (see below).
7. Click 'Apply'.

Reassigning users to activities

You can substitute a user for a current assignee by using the Reassign batch operation. 

To reassign:

1. Click Actions.
2. Select the activities to be re-assigned by clicking their checkboxes.
3. Select Reassign.
4. Select the assignees to be unassigned from the tasks under Reassign from. Plaques with selected assignees will appear in the text search bar. If you made a mistake, click X on the respective plaque to cancel selection.
5. Select the substitutes under Assign to. Plaques with selected assignees will appear in the text search bar. If you made a mistake, click X on the respective plaque to cancel selection.
6. Clear the "Don't send notifications" checkbox if you want to notify the assignees about their assignment.
7. Clear the "Recalculate hours shared among assignees" checkbox if you want to allocate hours manually (see below).
8. Click 'Apply'.

Recalculation of allocated hours when assigning/unassigning users

By default, Easy Projects recalculates personal estimated hours/hours left of the assignees as new assignments are made. If you do not want this to happen, such as when you need to have the current work loading unchanged, clear the 'Recalculate hours shared among assignees'  checkbox. As a result, no change will be made to the current allocation of working hours.

Only those activities that the user’s permissions allow them to edit/delete are available for selection.

Only those activities that the user’s permissions allow them to modify/unassign assignees of are available for selection.

Duplicate to

The duplicate operation allows you to copy the selected activities to one or more projects Or duplicate one or more projects.

To duplicate a group of activities to a project:

1. Click Actions.
2. Select the project/activities to be copied.
3. Click Duplicate to.
4. Select the destination project (if duplicating activities).
5. Select additional options:
• Change start date to today and status to open
• Copy activity assignees
• Don't send notifications
6. Click 'Apply'.

Change dates

This bulk edit allows you to set a single start and/or end date to a group of activities:

1. Click Actions.
2. Select the activities to be copied.
3. Click Change dates.
4. Set the desired date(s).
5. Select additional options:
• Don't send notifications
6. Click 'Apply'.

Delete

This action allows you to delete one or more activities.

1. Click Actions.
2. Select the activities to be deleted.
3. Click Delete.
4. Select additional options:

• Don't send notifications
5. Click 'Delete permanently'.

Be warned that the deletion cannot be undone so be absolutely sure before completing the operation.
