My settings: Profile

The Profile tab contains the currently logged-in user's profile details, such as the avatar (user picture), login name, etc.

The profile details are as follows:

Field/Control Description Comments
User picture Used to upload your picture to be used as an avatar.  
  • The picture to be uploaded must have a maximum size of 5 MB! Trying to upload a larger file will result in an error!
  • Recommended image size is 160x160px.
  • Only JPEG, GIF or PNG images are currently supported.
  • The avatar will appear on the left of the User menu [User Name] in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  • It will also be used as your avatar in all your project or activity assignments.
Full name Your full name is stored here Click "Change" to save your full name if edited
Email Your email address Click "Change" to save your email address if edited
Password change To change the current password, fill in the "Old password" and "New assword" fields and click "Change". The password must be at least 8 characters in length and include a minimum of 1 numeric character (0-9) and 1 special character (%, !, ?...).

To change your user password, follow these steps:

  1. Log in as usual. If you are logged in already, skip this step.
  2. Click on your avatar in the top left to open the menu, then click My Settings and choose the Profile item.
  3. Type your current password in the "Old password" field.
  4. Type a new password in the New password field.
  5. Click "Change".

 

Forgotten password handling (Password recovery)

In case you have forgotten your password, you can have Birdview to generate a new one for you so that you can sign in to your account. Use the steps below.

Password resetting procedure:

  1. On the Birdview login page, click the "Forgot your password?" link.
  2. Type in the email address to which you want the password recovery instructions to be sent at.
  3. Wait for the instructions to arrive.
  4. Open the message with "Birdview. Recover Password." in the subject line, and follow the instructions in the body of the letter.
  5. As a result, you will be sent a newly generated password, which you can use to sign in.
