Copying an existing access level to create new one
To create a new access level based on an existing access level, follow these steps:
- Log in as Administrator (or a user who has the ‘Manage System Settings’ permission). If you are already logged in, skip this step.
- From the Company Settings menu, select Access Levels. This will open the Access Levels screen.
- Click the level you want to copy permissions from/duplicate.
- An access level "[Name of Access Level being copied] - Copy" will be added to the list with its details on the right half of the screen.
- Type a name for the level being created.
- Give a description to the level, if required.
- Specify a default billing hourly rate for the level.
- Choose an Activity Center default view from the drop-down list.
- Edit permissions as you see fit.
- If you want to apply the permissions to members in existing projects, select 'Apply default permissions to project members in all existing projects'.
- Select the default access level for portfolios.
- As you are done with it, click "Save" to save the role; or "Cancel" to cancel any changes you may have done after clicking "Save" last.
Adding a new access level
To create a new access level from scratch, follow these steps:
- Log in as Administrator (or a user who has the ‘Manage System Settings’ permission). If you are already logged in, skip this step.
- From the Company Settings menu, select Access Levels. This will open the Access Levels screen.
- Click the +Add access level above the list of available levels.
- "New access level" will be added to the list with its details on the right half of the screen.
- Type a name for the new level,
- Give a description to the level, if required.
- Specify a default billing hourly rate for the level.
- Choose an Activity Center default view from the drop-down list.
- Edit permissions as you see fit.
- If you want to apply the permissions to members in existing projects, select 'Apply default permissions to project members in all existing projects'.
- Select the default role for portfolios.
- As you are done with it, click "Save" to save the role; or "Cancel" to cancel any changes you may have done after clicking "Save" last.
