Overview
Project-related financial information is entered and monitored in the Financials section in the project details section.
Warning
To access financial information, you must have the "Access billing information" global permission in your access level.
Financials tab has the following subsections:
Section | Description |
Billing | In this section, you can set the project's type of billing. Available types include resource hourly rate, customer hourly rate, activity rate, project hourly rate, and project flat fee. |
Currency unit | You can change the currency unit for the project transactions from a drop-down list. The default currency unit is as set in the Administration settings | Advanced tab. |
Total budget | This section shows the total budget for the project. |
Actual expenses | This section includes expenses incurred. |
Planned expenses | Planned expenses are the ones you include in the project financial plan. |
Payments | The Payments tab is where you enter payments against your invoices. |
Warning
To set the default currency unit, you must have the "Manage system settings" permission.
Project financial statistics
This subsection at the very bottom of the project details screen is a table of vital fiscal parameters of the project, including:
- Project profit,
- Project cost variance,
- Project work in progress,
- Upfront billing utilization, etc.
Note
Project billing settings are used to produce billing reports.
Adding budget to a project
To add the budget to a project:
- Click on the project's name to access its details section.
- Click to access the financial options.
- Click "Add budget for this project".
- Type the amount of the project's budget.
- Click "Apply".
