You can use the Vacation Calendar to view and manage vacations in your company excluding public holidays (see below). Effectively, the Vacations page works both as a vacations report, and a set of individual user's calendars that can be edited by you if you have proper permission (Manage other people vacations).

Vacation management includes viewing your own and/or other people’s vacations, changing the start date of a vacation year, and adding/deleting vacations on the calendar.
Accessing Vacations Calendar
To access Vacations:
- Click your logo or next to it.
- Click Company Settings.
- Select Vacations.
Vacations Page Reporting Mode
The Vacations page in reporting mode displays an overall picture of days off that your users have had or are scheduled to have within a given range. Use the mouse to read the specifics for each holiday you view on the calendar on a tool tip. Like so:
Range Selector
The Vacations calendar in reporting mode has three preset ranges: Year, Quarter, and Month. To select a range, use the range selector. To move one range back or forward, use the arrow buttons. To shortcut to the current range, click 'This year/quarter/month'.
Team Filter
You can filter vacations by team. To do so, click the team filter and select the desired team. The filtered list will include only the members of the team. See the screenshot:
Vacations Page Editing Mode
In editing mode, the Vacations page allows you to edit individual users' vacation calendars. The following operations are available:
- Adding a vacation;
- Editing a vacation; and
- Removing a vacation.
Each operation is explained below.
Entering Editing Mode
To start managing a user's vacations, click the name of the user on the list. To quickly find the user on the list, use the text search box above the list. When clicked, the name will be added to the heading Vacations at the top of the page, signifying you have accessed the selected user's vacations calendar. Like so:
Vacations calendar in editing mode is a year-based. Accordingly, its range selector is limited to years. See the picture for guidance on how to use it.
Switching to Vacations Report Mode
To quickly exit editing mode and return to reporting mode, click Vacations in the heading. Like so:
Adding a Vacation
Provided you have the "Manage other people vacations" in your role, you can add vacations and days off for other people. As soon as you click a user on the calendar, you are transferred to the user's Calendar in editing mode.
To add a single day vacation for a user:
- Click the user you want to add a vacation for.
- Choose the correct year by using the year selector.
- Click the date on the calendar you want to mark a vacation day.
- Click again, a drop-down menu will open.
- Use the Full day slider to indicate if this is to be a full day vacation or half-day vacation.
- Select the type for the vacation by clicking.
To set a multiple day vacation:
- Click the user you want to add a vacation for.
- Choose the correct year by using the year selector.
- Click the beginning date of the vacation, it will get highlighted.
- Click the ending date of the vacation, a drop-down menu will open.
- Use the Full day slider to indicate if this is to be a full day vacation or half-day vacation.
- Select the type for the vacation by clicking.
Editing Vacations
- To change the length of a vacation: use drag-n-drop on its beginning date or ending date. As you hover the mouse over it, a 'handle' appears on both dates. The mouse pointer will change shape as you place it over the 'handle' (
). When it changes, click and drag the edge of the vacation to another date thus changing its length.
- To change the type of the vacation: click the vacation, a drop-down will pop up. Select another type for it.
- To change full-day to half-day or vice versa: click the vacation, a drop-down will pop up. Click the Full-day slider to disable it if enabled, or enable if disabled.
Removing a Vacation
To remove a vacation, follow these steps:
- Click the vacation you want removed.
- Select Remove on the dropdown menu that pops up (see picture above).
